MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. In 2017, his 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu won the Colombian Kids Choice Award Favorite Song. The album he released as his debut ADN was made available through La Industria Inc., an Medellin-based Sony distribution company. The album reached the top of the charts at number eighteen in the Top Latin Albums charts. Vaina Loca was the Top Five hit of Ozuna's Top Five album in 2007 led him to join Ozuna. The group released Dopamina which was his top charting sophomore album the year following. In 2021 he recorded an duet with TINI's popular song Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo was brought up within a musical family, since both his mom and younger brother are musicians. In interviews, Turizo declared that music is an essential part of his life. As a child he learned to play saxophone guitar as well as piano and ukulele. Though his original career plan was becoming a veterinarian for animals, his brother Julian convinced him to try taking singing lessons from an instructor in Cuban. It transformed his life forever.
