Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. She was moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five which is where she went to at the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma realized that she wanted to be an actor and for some time she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre academy where she studied performing and singing. At the age of 10 Emma was a participant in a variety of Stagecoach productions, as well as school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was first cast for the first time in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma from her Oxford theater teacher. After eight continuous auditions, producers David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. The film broke all records for its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and it also became the highest-grossing film of 2001. Critics praised the film and the performances of the three top young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British paper, praised her for her impressive performance. Emma's performance was nominated, and she was awarded five more times for the film.
