After a short time, Tate formally joined the mixed martial arts sport team at Central Washington University. In February 2013 Tate officially joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Tate is famous for her double-leg takedowns. These involve holding an opponent against the cage , while taking them off. Many media sources have said that her ground game is powerful and dominant, noting that Tate's opponents are often overcome when they're knocked down. Her success as a UFC fighter is not the only reason Tate is a success.
